このひなげしの絵は、洋金箔の土台の上に無作為に赤い塗料を丸くのせ、ターコイズで輪郭線を決めた作品です。赤い色と輪郭のターコイズは部分的に乖離しつつも、全体としては調和しリズム感を持って左右上下に展開しています。花の中心、めしべとおしべの部分にさらに金箔を乗せることでこの調和が保たれています。使用色は金、赤、ターコイズ。日本の美意識を活かしつつ、現代的な感覚で描きました。
This painting of a poppy is made by randomly applying red paint in circles on a base of Western gold leaf, and then outlining it with turquoise. While the red color and the turquoise outline are in some places different, they harmonize as a whole and develop rhythmically from left to right and up and down. This harmony is maintained by applying additional gold leaf to the center of the flower, on the pistils and stamens. The colors used are gold, red, and turquoise. It was painted with a modern sensibility while making use of Japanese aesthetic sense.
